A little mouse with clogs on...

Guoc go Pictures, Images and Photos

Fhina is in Amsterdam - Do you remember this one?! Go listen, it'll take you back to your childhood, I promise... Here are the lyrics:

A mouse lived in a windmill in old Amsterdam
A windmill with a mouse in and he wasn't grousin'
He sang every morning "How lucky I am
Living in a windmill in old Amsterdam".

(Chorus)
I saw a mouse -- where? There on the stair
Where on the stair? Right there
A little mouse with clogs on -- well, I declare
Going clip-clippety-clop on the stair - oh yeah

This mouse, he got lonesome, he took him a wife
A windmill with mice in, it's hardly surprisin'
She sang every morning "How lucky I am
Living in a windmill in old Amsterdam"

(Chorus)

First they had triplets and then they had quins
A windmill with quins in, triplets and twins in
They sang every morning "How lucky we are
Living in a windmill in Amsterdam -- ya"

(Chorus)

The daughters got married and so did the sons
The windmill had christenings when no one was listening
They all sang in chorus "How lucky we am
Living in a windmill in old Amsterdam"

(Chorus)

A mouse lived in a windmill, so snug and so nice
There's nobody there now but a whole load of mice

Hope you are having a good time

Lots of Bretons wear wooden clogs called sabots- not as pretty as the ones in your pic.

Those cloggs look great - but I wonder how comfortable they'd be on the old tootsies?

Very colourful picture! Did you know that clogs are also very popular in Scandinavia? They used to be once a very popular foot ware, but have gone out of fashion in recent decades, I am afraid. I used to wear many pairs of clogs in my childhood though.;))
Hope your weekend is lovely dear Fhina.;))

What a vivid colorful photo of handcrafted wooden shoes...and that song, Fhina, how funny. I'm afraid that those mice are a bit revolting to me...especially climbing over the woman's head and everywhere! Yikes! Have a playful week! <3
