I've been singing this song a lot this week...
Sail on my brother
Sail on through the night
Sail on my sister
Sail on through the night
Beautiful as the day is long
Beautiful as the day is long
Sail on your troubles
Sail on through your doubts
Sail on your worries
Sail on soon you'll work it out
Beautiful as the day is long
Beautiful as the day is long
I've always been a believer
In the good things of life
But they don't all come wrapped in cellophane
And they don't always seem to turn out right
They don't always seen to turn out right
I've always been a believer
In the good things of life
But they don't all come wrapped in cellophane
And they don't always seem to turn out right
No, no, no,
They don't always seem to turn out right
But sometimes they do
Humm.... sail on.

We have to choose Hope, do we not? Hope against hope even...
I cling to such words as these, at times, "I've always been a believer
In the good things of life, but they don't all come wrapped in cellophane, and they don't always seem to turn out right..." (Fraser, Rodgers, Kossoff, Kirke).
As part of last year's live concert and gig challenge, we've got quite a few gigs lined up in April. It's not long away... Paul Rodgers with Bad Company, my favourite Mr John Smith (recently featured in The Times Online itself this month), and the first musician to befriend me on Myspace, Terry Emm... Meanwhile, I'm ponderosa-ing on Diane's 45/45 Challenge to herself... I'm astounded and inspired...
Diane believes that setting goals in a very measured and ambitious way, putting stuff out there into the Universe as it were, can help her to achieve so much more in life...
I do this at work, setting tasks and objectives, but I haven't followed my own example in life - I just drift - Even tho' I used to chant a mantra out loud for promotions. ...It got me two rungs up the ladder!
A lovely commenter last week gave me her mantra, "Weight Watchers is my friend..." That was a very useful tip. I'm taking that one on board.
I'm not finished yet... I'm getting started on my list of 47, just like darling Diane - Any requests??!
