...Last year, we celebrated the night away together, didn't we?
We cracked open a bottle of sparkling Elderflower Cordial, do you remember?
...We made a dolls' house chair with the cork, do you recall?
Then we sat up all night, critiquing the hair, the make-up, the parties, the dresses -- The long and the short of it -- And - the BLING!
Because last year we did Fhina's Bloggy Oscars, do you recall?
I love Les Oscars, moi!
Oscar, je t'aime... Even tho' you are 82. - Quatre-vingts-deux even.
J'adore the glitz, the glamour, the excitement, the fact that so many fabulous Brits are up for awards this year, with no hope of winning the golden statuette I'd bet...
There's the heart-throb and thinking woman's crumpet, Colin Firth. For Tom Ford's A Single Man...
Do you think he' ll wear a wet Armani shirt?
I don't think so.
Helen Mirren, for playing Leo Tolstoy's wife in The Last Station (Helen comes from Russian stock, did you know that?), and elfin Carey Mulligan in An Education...
And once again, this year, you can take home your own, your very own... Wait for it!
Fhina's Blog of Distinction Award -- YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
Here it is,
Do you love it as much as I do?
Take it, it's yours --
You wear it well, you know.
Fabulous, dahlink!
Mwah, dahlink -- Mwah! Mwah! Ooh, lipstick on your collar again... Silly me.

I love the Oscars too.
I love Colin Firth, but haven't seen his movie yet.
I love the champagne cork chair.

tres chic.
:-)
It is such a thrill to get a new follower, so thank you! I'm really enjoying exploring your blog. I'll think of you as we sit down an ocean apart to watch the Oscars tomorrow night! Fun! I do agree with you about Colin Firth...
Thank you very much for my first Oscar!! I am so excited! LOL!! I will be watching too and thinking of you and I drink my cold cold beer (dark of course) and munch on popcorn!
Can't wait to see the gowns and such!
Hugs

Oh "you like me, you really like me!" LOVE to watch the Oscars and your citizens are awesome, particular Helen....though I confess to be rooting for Sandra!!!! I will save you a seat!
Can I order a set of those chairs for weary Blogvisitors who come knocking in my door? I could then entertain them in style...while you added the kisses...
Hi Fhina,
I'd vote for Mr Firth for anything. Fingers crossed! And those chairs are cute!
Oscars? Already? Really?
I have GOT to pay more attention, really.

XXOOXX
I wish it were still on tv. Well I suppose it is on of the channels we don't have but years ago it used to be on the Beeb.
Why thank you lovely Fhina. I do remember last year's. I made a rather tearful acceptance speech but I am all grown up now and not prone to such silliness. Colin Firth? - knees weak. Yum xx
The Queenager almost threw up in her mouth when I hinted that I thought Monsieur Firth was a bit of hot totty. I mean who, over the age of about 30, wouldn't?
'I know I don't stand a chance, not with all the wonderful nominees-have I written a speech?-God no-do you think I need one, do you? Will they like me enough? I mean, I'm new and a Brit, but if you think I should, [taking a slip of paper out of a tiny bag...] I did write a few notes-not wishing to forget anyone you see...just in case...oh my God I feel sick...excuse me'
Love, love love Colin Firth. But I also love Jeff Bridges. Isn't he the sort of sexy laconic friend all woman should have?

Cyber soul sistah, us! Glad to have found your site. Kindred spirits. My man-child is graduating from college this May. Where does the time go?
As for the Oscars ... Jeff Bridges is (and always has been) my coming of age touchstone. It was I, not Cybil in that movie theatre.
Sandra marches to the independednt beat of the ame drummer I have been listening to for decades. Kudos to her.
I raise my glass of bubbly to Kathryn. She knocked it out of the park.
Sadly the production was lopsided. Loved the winners; poo-poo on the entertainment.
Cheers!
Don't like these new films, what do they call them, movies. Smashing blog though.
I'm only kidding, even I've got into movies. I meant talkies, mark my words, they'll be next.
