Stand by your man...

Shall we have a week of country, mes bloggy guitar-straps??!

One in which I explore the country tracks that have meant so much to me over the years...

Que pensez-vous, what do you think?

Let's go to Mu Mu Land, in the first instance...

Tammy Wynette and the KLF from England, for example...

Let's travel with the Ancients of Mu-Mu...

and did you know, according to ma soeur, la divina Wiki, "

With The KLF's profits, Drummond and Cauty established the K Foundation and sought to subvert the art world, staging an alternative art award for the worst artist of the year and burning one million pounds sterling".

Anyhoo, KLF reigned through the Eighties and Nineties, garnering more and more interest and aplomb, turning music into art and back again, and harnessing the talents of such luminaries as Tammy, and tweaking her songs to get us to stand by the JAMs! (Justified Ancients of Mu Mu).

This takes me back to somewhat happier times in the Eighties, I think, when we'd just moved with GJ's job to live in Culloden, Inverness...

I loved it in the Highlands of Scotland. We took up bird-watching and having winter picnics in the car, out in remote locations with only the deer and capercaillies for company, making a flask of frothy coffee to take with us to slurp soundfully, steaming the windscreen up against the brisk cold greenness outside.

We were young, free, not so single and Grizz was then not even a twinkle in my eye.

I missed my parents.

I was a new starter to a new office, and customers called me a 'White Settler'.

I started a Yoga class and used to fall sound asleep inside my sleeping bag when I was supposed to be relaxing deeply, not sleeping. Well, it's called a sleeping bag for a reason, innit?!

Funny comment (above) I've had some spammers at my place too.

I remember those days too- only mine were spent in Cali where I started my yoga practice...and found myself nodding off during relaxation, too. Though I did spend Aug. of 1980 traveling through the highlands- and feeling free and hopeful.
Thanks for sharing your memories, Ms Woman!

Oh, how I would love to see the highlands of Scotland. I'm sure my daughter, the queen of green, would love it too.

Lovely memories that you have. Thanks for sharing.

It couldnt have been high summer then or those midges would have woken you from your yoga-induced stupor.

Not mad on country.

Something I wrote earlier...
