On life...

This week I have been lying on a couch, contemplating my future, l'avenir, die Zukunft...

And what have I noticed, Starbucks over-sized coffee mug clenched firmly against full bosom, (a Christmas pressie from Grizz, and not stolen from an abandoned table outside the cafe, allegedly...), bronze pince-nez glasses perched firmly on head, and tarot cards held closely to said chest...

I have noticed that all around me, at work, is sadness, anger and turmoil, as we await a decision on our fate, due in October... In fact, it's already decided, they're closing us down, hook, line and sinker, ball and chain, by hook (the Captain in Peter Pan) and by crook (the politicians!). All that we're waiting for is the announcement.

So, what is a gal to do??!

Simples! I am thinking of re-training, going back to class, finding my life's mojo once more...

All of this is predicated upon, of course, us receiving our due returns, that is, redundancy packages that cut the mustard...

I am thinking of re-training as a psychotherapist. A counselling therapist, if you like...

What think you, mes bloggy loves? Can I book you in now??!

Tell me your news...

Fhina is listening, but she may be asleep upon her couch.

It's been a hell of a long week...

Love you x

As I said to myself when I found myself suddenly on the proverbial street last year, 'what fun. now you can reinvent yourself.' Truly, there will be wonders to come. Best wishes.

Just contemplating the patterns in that room would take one's mind off any problems, Fhina! Sorry to hear that your department will be part of the cuts but it does provide a great opportunity for a new vision.

I think you would be absolutely perfect for this, but what a lot of worry you must have had whilst waiting for the powers that be to decide matters. You poor thing - and your colleagues too.

We live in interesting times.

Good luck with your future. I'm sure you'll turn this setback to your advantage.

Bon weekend!

If that`s your couch, book me in!Seriously though, sometimes great things come from disastrous circumstances and we just need a little nudge in the right direction. New beginnings can be a blessing sometimes.Good Luck with it all.

Happenstance? My sister (in Newcastle) has just obtained her MSc and qualified as a psychotherapist. It's taken her years and was not cheap, but I know she'd be happy to answer any questions you might have about what to do, etc. etc., as well as putting you in touch with people if you need that too.

It definitely seems like a growing area as more and more school districts are hiring them.

Something I wrote earlier...
