The Toon...

For some, whatever, reasons I have been rather reticent to show you much of my city...

I fear the silent stalker, the squalling internet troll-baby, the slip of a thief in the night.

Call me daft!

Married to an IT Space Cadet, as I am, (as well as having been previously shackled to the Crown for almost 25 years!), I have been particularly careful of spilling too many beans about who I am, where I live, the places I haunt.

How do you feel about that, in your case, mes bloggy loves?!

And now?

I think, 'Who cares'!

So, here goes!

Newcastle is a very 'bridgy' city...

We have seven, in fact...

Here they all are, for your delight and delectation! Click on the pics to get the full effect, s'il vous plait?

The top picture shows our newest bridge - Gateshead's bridge, in fact - The Millennium Bridge -

Known by everyone as the 'winking eye', or the 'blinking eye' because of the way it opens, just like an eye does - As in the picture, allowing boats to sail further up the foggy Tyne, just as they have for centuries...

Fhina's eyes are open! ...Nowadays, so is her heart.

There are no secrets between us...

Friday was fine - I survived my last day of in the office! Mainly, I did it by not telling people it WAS my last day until I had three minutes left before I had to leave the office!

I recommend it as a way to leave without actually bursting into tears, leaving the last memory of you with people you love, as a right snivelling wrecklette!

Now, tell me your secrets?

Pretty-please?

Fab photos. You knew I would say that though.
Here's to a bright future with endless possibilities. (I tried to think of secrets but am far too boring!)

What a beautiful city you live in!

I, too, have secrets that I don't share. Mainly because of internet-trolls and stalkers but also because they are mine and I'm not ready to share.

I'm envisioning a very bright future for you, my friend.

Your city is on my list of places to visit....looking forward to it.
Your leaving plan (3 mins to go etc.,)is a good idea...I too am shackled to a government job and have been for over 30 years...if I am ever lucky enough to go I intend to copy that idea......
As for secrets on blogs? far far too many ....

I love Newcastle... haven't visited for years, but have very fond memories (very...) of illicit stays in the nurses residence at the RVI. There - that's a secret.

Or it was!

Glorious photos! I will have to visit your city some day. Congrats on being unshackled at last, and free to blogblogblog.
A secret of mine: all those things I'm never ever going to blog about because my parents read my blog.

Oh my goodness such a remarkable city you live in...the first photo especially the colors you captured..picture perfect...secrets yes we all have them...I don't so much like saying too much either as there are always lots of wonderful people but you only need one screwball that watches too much tv and learns stupid things...so yes being just a person with words photos thoughts and nothing too candid..or revealing...life is good on blogger! ...and your picture taking is marvelous!

A magnificent set of bridges ! At first I wondered which country it was, then on looking closer decided that it was in the UK. But no place that I with which I was familiar.
I can understand your reticence in keeping quiet about where you live. For I do so myself and will only admit to being somewhere in Ireland.

My husband has also been concerned about me being too precise about my whereabouts. He never likes me to mention if we are away from home, for instance. I suppose one can't really underestimate the powerful connectivity of the Internet . . . but it's sad to have to be so secretive.

The bridges are fab; I had no idea that Newcastle had such marvels!

I feel very out of the loop in terms of your employment -- but I hope the exit was desired by your good self. xx
