Fortune Cookie...

The fortune teller Pictures, Images and Photos

Come on in, come in, the door's open...

Take a seat. Please? Don't be afraid, now... I'm not THAT kind of Fortune Teller... No dark forces at work here... No cards, no tarot, only the crystalline visions, and you... That's all I need. See the glass?

Now cross my palm with silver... There, that's right, thank'ee kindly.

May I? Ooh, your hand is icy cold! Where have you been to make it that cold?! You're not worried about this, are you? There's no need, there's no harm, it's only fun, after all... Here, let me...

My, what a clear palm you have, such soft skin... Just look at those lines... Let me see...

scrying priestess Pictures, Images and Photos

What is it about the future, do you think, that makes us want to see into it, before we've even got there? People have been reading rune stones, tossing chicken bones into the air, looking into dark mirrors, clear pools and crystals, even cold-reading faces and palms for centuries now...

The Family Raven Scrying Mirror Pictures, Images and Photos

I'll be totally honest here, I don't really believe that anyone can tell your fortune... I haven't had it proved to me that someone you meet has the gift to see the future, or read your past...

And yet I have once or twice been dragged along to see someone alleged to have the gift... A Seer... A card-reader. I hid this from GJ, total sceptic that he is about things such as this... I think I said it was a Costume Jewellery Party with the people from work, and I even brought home a pair of enamelled earrings I'd procured - To cover my tracks as it were... There, go on, confess it. You didn't think Fhina had it in her to be that cunning, so sly did you?

Rumours Pictures, Images and Photos

I have mentioned before that I never lie... I don't. I have told half-truths when it was in my power to try to protect someone, or simply when I just don't want to come to the 'phone... But then we all do that, don't we?

So, when yesterday, I trotted out what I could of my past, roughly in chronological order - So that those of you who traipse through this portal from time to time might better understand that when I proffer general life advice, it's done from compassion, borne of experience... That these are learned and studied bons mots, and that I'm not pontificating, not looking down on any lesser mortals than I. To be honest, I always get the sense that la Goddess Wiki does that with me, every time I have to duck my head in at the hallowed Temple... Like she's just toying with me, in fact... Sometimes giving me duff advice, as she does!

So when I put pen to paper for the list, all the while I was thinking, 'It's really not enough, this doesn't amount to much, Fhina!' 'There are people who go through life with far greater burdens than you have...' As indeed there are.

But you, mes bloggy dahlinks, have brought me back myself once again. With your words, and your charms, your magic philters... You have made me see that I have in fact been through quite a bit... That I have surmounted, survived even, what the cards have dealt to me; And have grown more battle-scarred, bashed around the edges, and I'm often weary, but I recognise that I have a strong spirit...

And I want to thank you... I desire to warmly hug you to my ample, jewel-encrusted bosom, (some artistic licence here, please?), and to pass on some of my love and light and some healing energies to you in return today... Thank you for your ongoing goodness, kindness and patience with me.

fortune teller Pictures, Images and Photos ...Ah, but first I want to pose a question to you, as only Gypsy Fhina Lee can... Please be patient...because I'm going to hold it over and put it to you in the morning.

What time tomorrow? I have to know! I am not a patient woman. You do this just to mess with my fragile, little mind and watch me squirm, don't you?

You, however, are a wonderful, wise, patient, beautiful, work of art. Battle-scarred and bashed around the edges looks well on you, my friend.

Your words are treasures. I so appreciate you sharing your history this week. I feel we all have much more in common than not, and I'm more convinced of that the older I get.

One of my favorite healing books, put out by a 12-step program, says "there are probably people in the world with worse problems than us, but it's also true that our problems are hard enough." Or something of that nature. It's a comfort.

I keep thinking of your phrase "mes bloggy chums." It's endearing.

You did that on purpose, to drive Bloggus Nuttus even more nuttus, didn't you? ;)

I have seen 2 'fortune tellers' in my life. Both told me I'd have 2 children - a boy and a girl. Now, they could have meant Ryan and Sundance, I suppose... but I do pay close attention to single men who are dad to one boy... very close... you know, just in case it was indeed the Universe speaking through those (crazy) ladies ;)

I will be patiently waiting for that question! Your trials and tribulations have made you who you are today and given you a depth to help others through your own circumstances. You are a jewel! Till tomorrow my dear.

I'm not sure I believe in all that stuff either... but I keep an open mind just incase!

Looking forward to the question. Meanwhile, I must say that I think all that fortune telling stuff is absolute bollocks! Sorry for being blunt, but sometimes I have a massive urge to be:) Must be me Yorkshire roots lass!
(You can take the girl out of Yorkshire but you can't take Yorkshire..........)

I love reading your blog. It's like watching a beautiful dance. You are verbally light on your feet... or maybe you are just light...

I don't believe in fortune telling or tarot or any of that tosh. I don't believe in mediums or spiritualists -other than the fact they like to fleece people by kidding them along.

when do you have to go back to work?

That is the coolest, eeriest picture of Marilyn in the window. I might consider dropping a few gold coins THERE.

Not really. I'm like French Fancy. I don't fall for any of that. I wouldn't turn down a free one, though. Just for kicks.

I have been to a fortuneteller twice. Each time I entered and left sceptically.;) However, after years have passed and most of what they said came true, I am not so sure what to think of the whole thing. That is why I have not been to a fortuneteller for 20 years.;)) And will never go again.;)
I look forward to tomorrow.;)

You make me laugh all the time. Your writing style is warm, inviting, and humorous.

Now, what is it you will ask?!

As a firm believer in 'There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosphy', I have no problem with mediums, torot or what you will - provided the mind which employs those extra sensory perceptions, uses them as counselling tools and offers spiritual healing to any who consult them. This is a far cry from charletans whose sole aim is to 'get rich quick' and knowingly 'con' vulnerable beings from purely selfish motives. Closed minds leave no room for growth...

Fhina, I think you channel different personalities, including the marvelous Marilyn Monroe as a gipsy queen. We are all fortune tellers for others whom we know well. We project what we wish for them and what is inevitably written in their temperament.

From me to you: Enjoy a cup of hot chocolate tonight, with a biscotto. Drench yourself with soft music and prepare to dream.

Arrivederci a domani.

I do not believe that someone can tell your future, but I am convinced - however - that some can communicate with the "other side."

Wouldn't that be fun????

I don't believe in fortune tellers, but sometimes when we meet certain people, I feel as if something is going on that makes us able to see things in each other and there is clarity on things unseen that are going on between us. I know... a little woo woo, but a fascinating topic. I think if I ever met a real fortune teller, it would scare the daylights out of me.

The heart, so neatly tucked into its white-walled room, is near to bursting with already knowing your question....

I have always wanted to go to a fortune teller. I'm a big skeptic, but part of me is drawn to this type of thing. Great job covering your tracks!

Bloggus Nuttus: Calm down, precious, for all is now revealed - And I should never, ever wish to mess with your brilliant, stellar blognut mind! And as for battle-scarred, being seen by candle-light does enable me to pass for fifty on a good day! Take care, Toots! xx

sallymandy: Bless you for leaving such a considerate and gentle comment at my portal - You have really warmed the cockles of my heart, thank you so! x

Diane: I didn't honestly - I know how fragile my grip on sanity is at the best of times, dear Diane! What you have to say about Tellers is very interesting... I saw the Seer in Scotland, who terrified me, but was a cold-reader, I think, and another at a new-age fair - My friend loves him dearly, and so I sat with him and we looked at cards, and he gave me a recording of our conversation on tape. It was all very positive, and what he said was comforting -

Not seeing the future, per se, but helping to guide me for a while, and he was so right. He gave me such a feeling of calm, and I think that's a very powerful gift for the silver I crossed his palm with. I read Angel Cards myself for close friends and colleagues - but it's all gentle, positive stuff - Nothing negative, fun really...xox

Artist Unplugged: Thank you, AU, you too are such a creative and sparkling gem of a person, the card-reader who I mention above did tell me that my role in life was 'to help others along', and I took that to my heart - I hope that what wibble I spout might help the odd person to heal or to move on xo

Jewels: I know, I know - I think I am much the same mind as you!

Henry the Dog's Mum: Perhaps we need to get darling Henri in a little neckerchief with a golden earring and a crystal ball - The Bloggy Dog Soothsayer? I like the Yorkshire in you, HTDM, it doesn't come out in your film clips at all, you know - You sound very sophisticated and bright as a cotton-tail! x

Sometimes Sophia: Bless you, SS, thank you for coming to waltz with me - You are so kind, really. When I was little, I used to dance by standing on my dad's toes - and sometimes I'd still like to feel like that... xx

FF: I think you do have to be very careful and pick and choose who you see, for they are very popular and many people place a lot of store in their 'truths...' I do not feel convinced by them in any way, but the chap I saw a few years back was very sage and a very open soul... I do not have any compulsion to visit mediums or spiritualists, although my nanna was very much of that persuasion... and I do read angel cards, as I say, for fun really xx

phd in yogurtry: What a great monicker, Dr Yoghurt! It is such a wonderfully poignant picture of Marilyn - I was surprised to find it, and have never seen it before...

Michelle: Consider yourself duly hugged, dahlink, but mind you don't catch your soft curls in my pearls and gems! ;) xox

Protege: Have you, Z? It is odd, isn't it - And I think there are folk who have the gift of being able to read us, and say things that could be true of anyone, if that makes sense... and maybe there are some who are just gifted, who can say? x

The Things We Carried: Welcome in to the booth, Meredith, dahlink. I am pleased to have made your lovely warm face smile x

La jinksy: I know exactly how you feel la jinksy - Exactly - I cannot discount anything and everything, but eschew charlatans, as you say - That is how I parade my angel cards - no money passes hands and I just try to be warm and positive about everything, offering self-confidence boosts, if that makes sense? You are a very warm and wise, crinkly-eyed from winking, woman, jinks! xx

lakeviewer: Rosaria, you have given me a gift of a blog - I think you are so right, my friend, and I have entered into that very spirit for one of my pieces this weekend. I wrote it last night, and I've mentioned you, I hope that is all right with you? Thank you so much, dear darling Rosaria. Ciao bella. x

lizspin: That is so interesting, Liz... It is something many of us would like to trust in too. x

Margo: I think that what you say is very true Margo - I must apologise for writing Margo with a 't' on one of the comments I know I have left on your blog - I am such a twit sometimes... I am so down with the woo woo, you would not believe! x

Beth Kephart: Beth, you must be one of my angel cards, your writing so chimes with their other-worldly music...

Carma: Just like me, Carma! And I am the Mistress of Cunning on occasion - but I could never do it for 'evil', if that makes any sense... x
