I too have a strange love affair with black and white. Which is strange as black and white was an artificial invention of early photography - quite unnatural. But it has the ability to add contrast and that's what I like. Thanks for your excellent examples.
and of course, 'toon, toon, black and white army'... sorry ;-)
Yes,Ms. Fhina, a tableau of black and white...and a dash of strong color-fuchsia maybe? <3
Mmm - I fear you've introduced shades of grey there. Can't quite make my mind up.
Fortunately for us all Black and White doesn't really exist as there are always shades of gray.best wishesRibbon :)
Lovely though they may be though, Fhina, we love all the vibrant colour you also provide!
Good advice - spell it all out in black and white. Have a lovely Monday, dear Fhina! XOXO
Love the Hugh Laurie pic (a secret hero of mine). HxxPS: You are a darling (re: your comments over at mine). Hope your back is not too bad right now. :)
I love black and white.Short funny story. When I was younger (and now, too, for that matter) I loved The Three Stooges. All of their films - almost all of them, in any case - were shot in black and white. Now, I saw them on television, of course. One day, My Mother told me that she and My Dad were thinking of getting a color TV set, and she asked me if that was exciting news.I told her that I didn't want one.She asked me why.I said, "I don't think I want to see The Three Stooges in color. I like them in black and white."
it can be scary in black and white eh??love saz xhow is the back fhi?
That train would give an elephant an inferiority complex.
We say black and white but there's a million shades of gray involved.
It's why I struggle so with my family... they live in a very black and white world... mine is very grey (and aqua, cerulean, lemon, coral, etc ;) XO
Spell it out, words on a page, say what you need -- ah, if it were only so simple. Or so fab as these lovely pics.Love, love, love the new pic in your masthead.
Black and white is so perpetually stylish - in art, photography, film, fashion - timeless. Some great pics there.Hope your back is better - isn't it a nuisance not having a strong body?
The black and whites are stunning, I think in many ways they make everthing sharper and often convey a mood much better than colour. Many thanks also for my award, I've only just found it!! Big hugs, and make yourself some tea and crumpets as a thankyou x
