Danger, Danger...
Potassium hydroxide is extremely dangerous to breathe and fatal to eat. It causes deep ulcers if it touches the skin and irreversible damage if it gets in the eyes. It is widely used to wash fruit and vegetables; in the manufacture of chocolate, ice cream, caramel, soft drinks, paper and textiles; to form a skin on pretzels before baking; and as a wart-remover. It is also used by vets for disbudding calves horns and for dissolving scales and hair and is a common ingredient of washing powder, denture cleaner, detergent, drain cleaners and soap.
Never was anything great achieved without danger.

clever! :)
Heaven help the bottle blondes of this world...
The perfect couple for a Danger post! Funny thing, i came by last night, but was on my husband's computer so I could not watch the video with volume (as his volume control is broken). Imagine how surprised I was you had dropped by this morning.
I erased my all blog lists at summer's start (my summer blog break) planning to rebuild in fall. I, of course, have added you back! I have been slow. I won't do that again!
I no longer use A Child in the garden blog, but keep it there in case I decide to. Of course, you will be welcomed, if i use it again :).
Thanks for dropping by and the kind words! Good to see you!
but do pretzels qualify as greatness...Oh, but I forgot about the big puffy ones with salt - those definitely do!! Worth every bit of toxic chemicals ;-)
Nice post. Potassium hydroxide is also known as caustic potash. It is a strong base. Here you have well explained about the toxic chemicals. Its been long time since I read about the chemicals. Here I felt like I went back to my chemistry labs where I was experimenting different chemicals. Thank you for sharing the post.I appreciate your work.I have found similar article at write my paper.
