Golden Skans and The Shriekers

These boys could practically be my sons - If I'd had triplets, or probably quadruplets!

Good Goddess, one child was enough for me, given all that NCT Natural Childbirth lark... (and those that tell you that you'll never remember all that pain by the time you come around to your second child... Rubbish! I had GJ taking notes at the bedside, I swear!)

I love this track, and the opportunity to see the Klaxons perform live in the studio chez a radio company, acoustically, and then to see what a record company makes of their "product" in the official vid... Bands are called "product" these days, did you know that, mes bloggy Colonel Toms?

Here the product is air-brushed, packaged, smooched and smoothed, transformed, speeded up in more ways than one, and tweaked to within an inch of their lives...

And their surreal, Sci-Fi stylee lyrics remain:

"Light touch my hands, in a dream of Golden Skans, from now on.
You can forget our future plans.
Night touch my hands with the turning Golden Skans,
From the night and the light, all plans are golden in your hands.

Set sail from sense, bring all her young.
Set sail from where we once begun.
While we wait, while we wait...

A hall of records, or numbers, or spaces still undone.
Ruins, or relics, disciples and their young.
A hall of records, or numbers, or spaces still undone.
Ruins, or relics, disciples and their young.

Light touch my hands, in a dream of Golden Skans, from now on.
You can forget all future plans.
Night touch my hands with the turning Golden Skans,
From the night and the light, all plans are golden in your hands..."

Hope you enjoy the Nu-Wave, Rave, Sci-Fi Punk Space Ride of the Klaxons, derived from the Greek for 'to shriek' according to ma soeur, la Wiki!

And, to paraphrase bold Suldog, "Back soon with better stuff!" Hey, I've got an excuse, you know, we're snowed in!

What a contrast between a simple ditty and an over-produced music track.

Hope going back to work was bearable

Wow - I'll have to show the man-child. You have to some a lot of vision to know what a song is going to sound like.

Whenever anyone spouts that garbage about not remembering the pain of childbirth, I always respond, "Did you have a baby or did you get hit over the head? Because I remember every bit of it!" ;)

Hope you're well, Fhi!! xo
