Is it me?!

Sitting in a cafe yesterday, killing an hour before I went to a conference, I partook of a fruit scone with my latte - Pronounced skonn, not skone... (Here in the North!)

Unpeeling my bijou pat of butter from its golden envelope, I read the words upon the fold:

"Allergy information - Contains Milk"

Is it me?!

Lactose intolerance.

Can't understand it myself - never had all these allergies around when I was a kid. Perhaps we did, and they simly all died at an early age.

No it's not you! How can you make skons (same pronunciation here)
without milk? Now you've made me fancy a devonshire tea.

No, it's not, I'm shaking my head too, although I guess with so many people being allergic and sueing so many people they have to do that for their protection....hard to believe how some can react so violently to dairy products, but wow love this photo and post, minus the heavy cream it reminded me of being in London or Bath England and having some kind of English tea too....thanks for the memory of that!

What is mind boggling is the fact that someone might pick up that pat of butter and NOT KNOW THAT IT IS MADE WITH CREAM!!!!! and would actually take up the court's time, make more lawyers richer and more than likely WIN"!$%£&***(+!!<@@!spitting feathers here.

I have a milk allergic daughter, but she's not allergic to butter, especially not to the tiny pats they give you in a restaurant.

I agree with Moannie: how could you NOT know it has milk in it?!?

Its like when they have a note on peanut butter saying "warning this contains nuts" hmmm, really???

The biggest allergy breakout i've noticed in the last couple years is gluten allergies. I dont remember ever hearing about it and now its everywhere! A lot of restaurants even have "gluten free" parts on their menus...
