Recombobulated...
When I left you, I was discombobulated, knackered, exhausted, at the end of several tethers and generally plum tuckered...
Now I return to you, after a fortnight of lying (albeit in the shade) in the sun, replete with fresh fruit and veg and suitably warmed up for a northern lass - Meaning my skin is less blue and more cafe au lait coloured in parts (only the parts that weren't covered by hat, frock, shoes, beach towel and Factor 50 for Kids Sun Protection, that is!
That's right, I chose a destination just off the coast of Africa, renowned for sun, sea, surf and general naturism, (...apparently - I was warned!), and I come back looking as if I just spent the whole two weeks, unwashed, in the cupboard under the stairs...
Still, my batteries have been charged (a bit); I feel a little more relaxed and a little less strung-out; I have climbed the holiday laundry mountain, (just kidding - Had you there, didn't I?!), and I am ready to return to college and my various jobs, paid and unpaid - Mainly unpaid!
Fuerteventura was so different from my vie quotidienne - Volcanic, black, gusty, severe and space-worldly but with its own charm, including patient locals, copious goats, rolling clouds and an azure blue sea full of little fishies that followed where you tread, so they could rummage through the displaced sand for treasure...
I heartily recommend it to the house!
