Walk Like A Panther, Mes Bloggy Beauties!

I do not suggest you watch all of these, mes bloggy clipper ships!

Mais non, I mean only to offer up a weekend Smorgasbord of delights, all in the name of the English Loveheart Legend that is Tony Christie...

This first song was, in fact, written by our bold Jarvis Cocker... I think Tony does it full justice! The video is mint, non?! Sorry, trying to get down with the young 'uns there! I shouldn't really try, not with what I've put me knees through over the years... And over the harbour-master's back steps!

'You've got to fly like an eagle
Prowl like a lion in Africa
Leap like a salmon home from the sea
To keep up with me
You've got to walk like a panther tonight
Walk like a panther tonight'

Titter ye not, there are still those in our sceptered isle who believe that le Tony is American, so engrained is he in our hearts and minds with songs like Amarillo,
and I Did What I Did for Maria!

Tony Christie Pictures, Images and Photos Still, here he is in all his violet glory - Enjoy!

And it wouldn't be an article on Tony Christie without Amarillo, which has been done to death the length and breadth of the land. In karaoke-land and in club-land, in comedy and even in Afghanistan...

Here, Tony is extracting the Michael (taking the Mickey - taking the p*ss) with the song himself... You should never take yourself too seriously, Fhina firmly believes.

Here are the Royal Dragoon Guards, enjoying the sun and doing a skit on comedian Peter Kay's take on Amarillo...

It is nice to see them smiling and enjoying themselves in such a dogged scenario, non?!

...And by showing this please do not think that I wish to enter into any, many, or all dialogues concerning the war, nor that I am condoning this war, or indeed any wars, past, present or Goddess-Wiki forbid, future...

Fhina is peace-loving, an old hippy-soul, in fact, but you knew that anyhoo.

Et Fhina-lement, here is Peter Kay himself, this time on Comedy Relief on BBC TV in 2005. I hadn't honestly seen this before now, and it is lovely to see so many British soap stars and other heroes, Sooty and Sweep, and the Rainbow cast - puppets from my childhood, the jokers from Happy Mondays, Brian May and Roger Taylor from Queen, Sir Michael Parkinson (chat-show host) and diddy Ronnie Corbett, whom we see taking a nasty non-comedic, but thankfully not fatal, tumble off the moving platform...

I hope it offers you a chuckle this weekend, mes dahlinks...

Mwah! Mwah! Two kisses for a weekend full of pleasures, wished for you most fondly by la Fhina!

Something I wrote earlier...
