Salut mes copains! Hello again my darlings! I have missed you...
Five Things I Am Grateful For:
1. I am grateful for the comments, warm thoughts, friendship and fellow-feeling engendered by you, my darlings of Blogland... I want to praise you as you deserve, and you have embraced and supported me over the past few weeks of wibbling verbage and wobbly legs... 'Thank you' doesn't quite cut the mustard!
You are lovely, vibrant, wonderful folk! Bless you each and every day... and I did think of you while I was in hospital, and knowing you were wishing me well did sustain me, really truly!
2. I am grateful for the ministrations of the much-maligned National Health Service (NHS), all of whom have been supportive and caring, and unbelievably swift, once the wheels were finally put in motion.
3. I am grateful for the inventors of painkillers, enabling me to feel floaty and comfortable...while sleepy and still a little detached and confused - So what's the difference, you say... and I laugh (hysterically, blame the tablets!) at your cheek and honesty!
4. I am grateful to my family, GJ and Grizzler, who have supported me too, and who will have to continue to be strong in the face of me being unable to lift much (including wet and dry laundry) or do more than the minimum of housework for, oh at least another 4 - 6 months!
5. I am grateful to the manufacturer of staples which are currently holding me together!
Whatever happened to stitches?!

staples, 6’ x 3.5’
...and for those of you who believed I could ever allow GJ to access and manage my blog in my absence, dream on dahlinks! xxx
Can you give me a couple of days please to get caught up with your fabulous and fantastic blogs, and to be able to reply properly to your kind comments? Bless you!

My Dear, My Dear,
Welcome! Welcome back home. Glad your process when well and you have returned home to recover. Look at your recovery as a long deserved vacation as your body heals slowly. Continue to appreciate the small things around you.

Presious

Just dashing out for the day but so so so glad you are ok and back in the land od blog.
That's great news! keep resting, so your recovery will be faster than when you push yourself too hard in the beginning (like I did!) :)
Blimey, Fhina, times have changed. I was in hospital for 14 days after my laminectomy. Good news that it all went so well and so quickly. Now have lots of rest and chocolate and be careful how you get up.
Hi there I just found your blog. I like it. Your're funny. We have lots and nothing in common. When you're better check my profile.

Glad you are doing well.
So are you back to cooking now then? Hoovering? Dusting?
Not slacking, I trust?
Good to have you back. If you're all stapled do you set off security machines at airports I wonder?
Take it easy m'dear. And don't go anywhere near a metal detector ;-) TFx

Rest and heal!!!!
Welcome back to blogland! Have a cyberspace bouquet of fragrant blooms! xxx
Hello Fhina,
Good to have you back! Keep taking the tablets - hysterical laughter always helps! - and REST UP!
Hope you take your time recovering and that your back will be kind to you......I sympathize, I have back trouble but can't have surgery. Take care of yourself and NO LIFTING!
presious: Hello and bless you! You are so right, I am dead wobbly and a bit detached still - My typing fingers have known better days than today, to be honest...
Diane: Hello dearest friend - Everything went according to plan, said the Consultant, and I still don't know exactly what he's done - Still I shall find out when the time is right, I guess... I have been pretty tired today, and got up really late, did some exercises, and really need to go for a walk just now, but am catching up with Grizz... Missed you! x
Working mum: Ta muchly!
Jan: TY!
Meredith Teagarden(The Things we Carried): I am still toasty floaty today, and I think that's the tablets, but they said I had to keep taking them, soooo...
GB: Sir, you are always just dashing everywhere - It's difficult to keep up with you, and that's such a good thing, no?!
jeannette stgermain: I shall take your advice to heart - I know I was doing too much before I went into hospital, and know I haven't got to wreck what has been repaired...
French Fancy: I know FF, and people used to get put in traction and all sorts of things, now it's a case of wham, bam, thank you ma'am, and you're out into the big wide world again with a fistful of painkillers and a back full of plastic! I feel like an A4 Loose Leaf Binder, you'll know those only too well from your OU courses!! x
The Clever Pup: Hello little dawgie - I'm glad we have lots and nothing in common - Those make the best kind of bloggy friends! I shall be checking you out soon, and it's always good to hear from folk who have recovered from these back nightmares, so thank you for finding me!
Fat, frumpy and fifty...: Saz, darling! Doctors want you in and out really, and they were pleased because I was no bother for them - I'm a good little girl really, oh, apart from a couple of minor incidents best not to mention here! I am wobbly and woozy to be fair, so what's new?! Missed you loads, hope you're in a good place! xox
carma: Perhaps I need to take up some light juggling, as you do, to keep myself fitter! The washing machine is calling my name today, but I am ignoring it!
lakeviewer: The surgical staff were really funny and lovely - I could not have asked for better care - I woke to being serenaded by one of the sisters, and was speaking the few words of Russian I know to another member of staff, who happened to be Russian! It was very surreal, but I was so relieved to be back in the land of the living!
Chairman Bill: My OH does all the cooking, Sir, and will be doing a darned sight more for a few weeks yet, if my surgeon and physio are to be satisfied! I might get around to some light dusting in a few weeks - It's like someone lovely once said, whose name escapes me, after the first few years, the dust doesn't get any worse - I remember now, it was Quentin Crisp, bless him!
Scriptor Senex: Unless the security machines pick up plastic, I am safe to pass through them! It does feel really strange, 'though, I must admit!
TOM FOOLERY: I shall harken, TF! My cousin wants to bring his metal detector up to my garden, so I shall stay indoors!
Michelle: Hello darling - Hope you are healing properly too! I'll be checking up on you!
jinksy: Hiya jinks! Those blooms are blooming lovely, thank you!
Derrick: I shall, Sir!
Artist Unplugged: I am sorry to hear that you cannot be healed as such, by an op - It is very early days for me, so we shall see what transpires over time... Take care of yourself too, and I am not doing any lifting, for anyone!
