The Wit and Wisdom of Oscar Wilde...

Children begin by loving their parents; after a time they judge them; rarely, if ever, do they forgive them.

I see when men love women. They give them but a little of their lives. But women when they love give everything.

Experience is one thing you can't get for nothing.

Children Pictures, Images and Photos

Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes.

CHILDREN Pictures, Images and Photos

Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months.

CHILDREN Pictures, Images and Photos

I always pass on good advice. It is the only thing to do with it. It is never of any use to oneself.

Children Pictures, Images and Photos

I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best.

Children Pictures, Images and Photos

Life is far too important a thing ever to talk seriously about.

Children Pictures, Images and Photos

Life is never fair, and perhaps it is a good thing for most of us that it is not.

Children Pictures, Images and Photos

Life is too important to be taken seriously.

I love all these quotes; in fact I love Oscar Wild. I love all his work. And he was such a good looking man, I think.;))
My favourite quote of his is:
"The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. Resist it, and your soul grows sick with longing for the things it has forbidden to itself."

Fhina, you're supposed to be resting! And here I am, commenting on two posts in the same day??!

Lovely quotes and pics. Wilde's wit is wonderful. I said on Michael's blog, "Shouting at Street Lights", recently that I would probably choose Wilde as a dinner guest.

You made our week. Who can resist these pictures and the wit attached to them?

What is it that someone was meant to have said to Oscar at a party - Oscar, that is the best thing you never said but you claimed to have said it.

It's hard to know how much has been rewritten by history

Protege: Oscar is, to be fair, one of my heroes and he was handsome, it is true... I studied his life and his works at College, have visited his grave and need to visit his haunts soon in Dublin! x

AlekSandra: x

Fat, frumpy and fifty...: He is still such a star, and never more relevant than today. As for 'my' awards from Michelle and Adlibby - they were for all their readers and followers, and not specifically me, but 'Never look a gift horse in the mouth', says Fhi! I know the little ones are a bit twee, but they felt right, given my wittering about Griz's growing independence, etc! xox

Blognut: That is such a good name, by the way! Today, I am discombobulated!

lisa: Welcome back any time, lis! x

Derrick: But Sir, I am resting! In the arms of Mr Wilde's words on a chaise longue! Dear Oscar would definitely be a guest at my dinner table too, I would love to see how he would get on with Jonathan Ross, Dale Winton, Paul O'Grady and some other lovelies - Maybe we should blog about that some day!

Dusty Spider: Dear, dear Oscar, indeed! xxx

lakeviewer: I know the pics are a little twee but they just seemed right...

French Fancy: And how much of his press was written by Oscar, who was his own worst enemy in many ways!

Artist Unplugged: Glad you liked it! x

lizspin: Come in any time! Welcome!

Simply Heather: It took me no time at all to pull this together, so it was a dream!

Chairman Bill: Either that wallpaper goes, or I do. And he is also famous for saying: 'Ah, well, then I suppose I shall have to die beyond my means... And, 'Alas, I am dying beyond my means'.

Cynthia: I'm pleased to have pleased your artistic sensibilities, C!

Janie: He is a national treasure!

Expat mum: He is always worth reading and re-reading! One can never have enough of darling Oscar!

Fifi Flowers: Hello Fif! x

Meredith Teagarden (The Things We Carried): Thank you very much, you are so dear and so kind, M! x

Beth Kephart: All from Photobucket, all available freely to anyone!

Michelle: Glad you enjoyed it, petal! x
And the photos!! Just perfecto!!!
