It's not true I had nothing on, I had the radio on...

Norma Jean in a 1956 interview about her childhood:

Looking back, I guess I used to play-act all the time. For one thing, it meant I could live in a more interesting world than the one around me...

In Hollywood a girl's virtue is much less important than her hairdo.

You're judged by how you look, not by what you are.

Hollywood's a place where they'll pay you a thousand dollars for kiss, and fifty cents for your soul. I know, because I turned down the first offer often enough and held out for the fifty.

Being a sex symbol is a heavy load to carry, especially when one is tired, hurt and bewildered.

I am invariably late for appointments ... sometimes, as much as two hours. I've tried to change my ways but the things that make me late are too strong, and too pleasing.

It's woman's spirit and mood a man has to stimulate in order to make sex interesting.
...The real lover is the man who can thrill you by touching your head or smiling into your eyes or just staring into space.

"She was a whirling light to me then, all paradox and enticing mystery, street-tough one moment, then lifted by a lyrical and poetic sensitivity that few retain past early adolescence." Miller on Monroe.

I've been on a calendar, but never on time.

I restore myself when I'm alone.

You're too prolific with your posts - I haven't had a chance to comment on your last one yet!!

'The real lover is the man who can thrill you just by touching your head' Oh yes... Definitely. (or by touching your mind which is even more exciting)...

Beautiful tribute to Marilyn. And a nice comment by Maternal Tales. As a man, that was a lesson long in coming, but worth the wait.

Maternal Tales: Sorry, MatTa, in my panic about returning to work next week, I had pre-scheduled in some posts like a loon! I am with you on the real men...

B&B: Thank you for stopping by on your travels, Sirs, bless you for your understanding and discerning nature...

Love the photo of white on white with white...Marilyn is softness incarnate. She looks so vunerable. <3

Are those hard boiled eggs in that last shot...or exotic fruits? Guess either would sum her up rather well...

Good morning, Lady Fhina! Although it's afternoon to you, I'm just rolling out of bed. I'm feeling a little like Marilyn in the last picture, only I'm not that cute and no one brought me breakfast in bed. Quite the opposite, actually. I'm only up because my son woke me to make him cinnamon rolls. He's got this whole thing backwards, does he not?

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Your letter is gorgeous and I love you...seriously....Jahnu says this:
"Thanks for your good wishes and generous heart, your feelings
also...I take them in and cherish them with all my heart; they are
there and lift me and aid me spiritually and materially. May Lord
Krishna bless you and preserve you and fulfil all your desires."

love you xxxx

Lovely photos of one of the most beautiful women who has ever been

My dad met Miller at a social event about 20 years ago and found him quite surly, but I guess you can't be pleasant and polite all the time.

Beautiful images and deep quotes. I love this monography, thank you.

Who doesn't love Marilyn? One minute she is the girl next door; the next, she is a glamorous sex symbol. Doesn't she represent every woman, in a sense? We know how hard it must have been for her to be all those things people expect of you.

Lady Fhina, you never disappoint us.

Woman in a Window: There were some minor cosmetic surgery tweaks apparently, much the same as today...but she was a natural beauty.

Cynthia: I chose that pic especially, Cynthia, it has captured her vulnerability, most certainly. Hope you are well, m'friend! x

La jinksy: Think they are hard boiled eggs - You cheeky jinkser you! x

Bloggus Nuttus: I have also been shouting plaintively for breakfast in bed this weekend - To no avail! I have never, ever, ever been cute - Too much like a farmhand for that! And you are too self-deprecating, friend, you are sweet and pretty - I have stalked your work pic! Have a fine week, sweetheart - Don't work too hard xxooxx

Vodkamom: Merci millefois x

carma: I know, and for me, that is her allure - That she could be many women, but was also very human, as are we all, non? x

♥ Braja: I am sorry, toots - Shall try to put it right today - I am so hopeless - I need something of your strength and intelligence, Heart Braja! I am Fhina here and there, and like you, have my birth name too... I'm shocked when anyone calls me it out of work, for my family doesn't! It just doesn't feel like me any more - I know you know what I will mean by that, Braja...

Thank you so to the bold and wonderful Jahnu - I can just see him as Mads Mikkelsen now, you know - So beautiful! Take care, my sweet Braja - May Krishna continue to guard you both xxooxx

Adlibby: Thank you, dahlink x

Michelle: Merci, my treasure! I go back to work on Wednesday and Thursday, then holiday in England Fri through Monday, so some respite again then! Take care, have a healthy week! xxooxx

FF: My, what tales you can tell, FF - How fascinating! I would imagine Arthur to have been a little unapproachable - Such an intellect - often comes with troubles, non?! x

Lola: Monography - I'll have to look that up - You always teach me something new, Lola, thank you so much! x

lakeviewer: Very deep, Rosaria, and I think clearly so true... I think that is why women are interested in her, because there wasn't that sense of her only being a man-magnet - You know the sort - They won't suffer women - Marilyn to me was very human, prone to doing things she oughtn't to, quite vulnerable and yet strong; She could play out so many roles in life, and was always searching for knowledge, for beauty, for warmth, as are we, no...

Diane: I can see you, Diane, very beautiful in that sweater - You have the same colouring as Marilyn I think - That interesting translucence... :) xxx
