Dreams...
Now here you go again
You say you want your freedom
Well, who am I to keep you down?
It's only right that you should
Play the way you feel it
But listen carefully to the sound
Of your loneliness
Like a heartbeat drives you mad
In the stillness of remembering
What you had
And what you lost...
And what you had...
And what you lost
Oh, thunder only happens when it's raining
Players only love you when they're playing...
Say, women...they will come and they will go
When the rain washes you clean, you'll know
You'll know...
Now here I go again, I see, the crystal visions
I keep my visions to myself
It's only me
Who wants to wrap around your dreams and...
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?
Dreams of loneliness...
Like a heartbeat drives you mad...
In the stillness of remembering
What you had
And what you lost...
What you had...
Ooh, what you lost
Thunder only happens when it's raining
Players only love you when they're playing
Women, they will come and they will go
When the rain washes you clean, you'll know
What were your dreams when you were small?
Which of them have you accomplished, mes bloggy lace pillow-slips?!
What's stopping you now, my bloggy love-hearts?
...Not love... That's for certain. I love you nonetheless, mes choufleurs - Mwah!

Guess I was born a dreamer, rather than a doer. That can put paid to all sorts of things...
If you don't dream you wont' accomplish anything... I dreamed of travelling and have done that. Of being happy.
Of being an actress - and I get to be a drama queen here at home.
So, you see, dreams do come true! ;-)
Hi Fhina,
I'm sure we're all dreaming of you having a good time in York!
Whadaya know, this is a song I've heard and like! I even had a tape of their music eons ago! I spend a lot of my day trying to dream up customers!!
Don't really remember my childhood dreams. . . perhaps it was assuming that life would always be simple.
I can't exactly place my finger on how that one got destroyed. . . can you?
Don't mind me. . . I'm just a wee bit under the weather today. . .
Great post, Fhina. As always.
I don't really remember all of my childhood dreams. I know I dreamed of writing at one point, and then life got tough for a while and I dreamed of just being all right.
And I am.
So I guess that turned out for me. :)
Love to you,
Bloggus Dreamus
XXOO
I have always dreamed of being a writer.
I love that song, and many other Stevie Nicks songs.
Ma chère FSI,
I checked the date of this song and was surprised (1977), I associate it with an earlier time in my life but it came out the year that I came to France for my one-year stay!
Dreams as a child - oh so many. I dreamed of being Heidi, of being George in the Famous Five, of being kissed by Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin, of swimming the channel, of being England's ambassador to just about any country, of winning an olympic medal for swimming, of winning the Nobel Peace Prize. None of those dreams came true but I am not disappointed in my life, it gives me great pleasure and there is only one of above dreams that I still wish I had done (but I will not tell you which one, parce que j'aime bien garder un peu de mystère).
Grosses bises,
Lovely child in those pictures, Fhina. Thanks for the song and the reminders.
Oh ma petit choufleur indeed!! I never played rugger and that's just my ears eh?

Okay, I wanted to be a dancer, like those on the Carol Burnett show. I also wanted to be a singer and an actor. I have had the experience of all of those...though the dancing was not like a Carol dancer!!!! I'm still dreaming, there's hope, since I'm still breathing!
Wonderful post, but what else is new? Stevie is my religion, too.
I dreamed as a child, constantly. I still daydream, often speaking my reveries out loud. Incurable dreamer, I am. I hope it never stops, as it is my lifeblood, my source, my inner voice screaming a song to the wind.
I've found my sleep is however not visited by REM phase dreams lately. I compensate with wild open-eyed fantasies that totally envelop me.
Au revoir, mon rêve
I am a firm believer that dreams are meant to be taken hold of and never let go, to open your mind to the possibilities that seem impossible to so many, and to capture that imagination we are all born with and make our dreams the realities that they were always meant to be...
And I believe our creativity, our wonder at it all that we find as children, well that is worth carrying through well on into adulthood, for it is what helps us keep our dreams alive.
Beautifully created and wonderful incentive to think...thank you.
Always the writing...always. Guess I'm kinda doing it.
I wanted to be an artist. Guess I'll have to settle for mediocre blogger instead ;-)

ladyfi: Wonderful, dahlink! I don't remember what I wanted - Probably to be a singer like Cher - I recall her Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves, most clearly... And Sandy Shaw, as I blogged recently...
